Dodital Lake Trek

05 Nights / 06 Days

When should you go: 09 November - 14 November

Follow in the footsteps of the Gujjars in this classic Himalayan trek that takes you through Bhagirathi valley, up winding rocky and steep mule tracks, steadily going upwards, passing deciduous forests to up high where there are only fir and deodar, finally to be rewarded by the serenely pristine Dodital Lake. This is not the end; from here you can optionally climb up to the alpine meadows of the Darwa Pass.

The trip is worth it as a grand spectacle opens up, the vista presenting a breathtaking view of snow-topped Bandarpunch, Swargarohini and other peaks towering in all their majestic beauty. Then onwards down the pass to the undulating Yamuna valley following the traditional Gujjar path gives you a chance to see the kaleidoscopic spectacle of sadhus, tourists and local population on the timelessly enchanting route touching Gangotri and Yamunotri. It is a week-long extravaganza of a feast for the senses leaving you replete at the end.
