Everest and the great Kunchenjunga are commonly known as mountaineers' paradise. But for the rest, it is not an easy task, yet they might have dreamt Everest expedition. For those who wish to enjoy an easy trek yet experience the beauty of the Everest and Kunchenjunga, should opt for the Singalila ridge trek. This trek takes you to the edge of the international border line of India and Nepal, from here you get a wonderful view of the Mt. Everest (8850 m) along with Lhotse (8501m) and Makalu (8475m) and a very close view of the Kanchenjunga (8586m).

The Singalila ridge is famous for its scenic beauty. Once crossing the ridge you get a complete panoramic view of the great Himalayan range. People residing in this area are culturally very rich and highly influenced by diverse tradition of the hills. A blend of Tibetan, Mongolian, and Indian culture can be found amidst the native of this Himalayan region. Buddhism is the most popular religion followed by the people. During your trek you will be able to visit several Buddhist monasteries.


  1. Day 01: Bagdogra to Darjeeling (2134m).

    Reach Bagdogra airport then drive for 3-4 hrs through the tea estates to Darjeeling. Night stay at any hotel

  2. Day 02: Drive Darjeeling to Manibhanjan (2150m) and trek to Jaubari (2750m)

    The trek begins from Manibhanjan and you continue walking along the several small dwellings and reach Tonglu (3020m) which is situated amidst the dense forest in the Darjeeling hills. Sleep in the camp at night.

  3. Day 03: Trek to Jaubari - Kalpokhri (2950m) - Sandakphu (3580m)

    Next day start from Jaubari and reach Gairbas (2620m). Rest for a while here and then start walking along the vertical mountains. You will cross a small lake and a village at Kalpokhri. Now it is a 2hrs walk along the ridge and you finally reach at Sandakphu. Rest for a night in the camp and relax.

  4. Day 04: Trek to Sandakphu - Molley (3600m)

    This is one of the best treks that any mountaineer will cherish. Once you start walking along the ridge you get the best view of the great Himalayan range on your side. Enjoy the sight and then settle your camp at the base for the night.

  5. Day 05: Trek to Molley - Ramam (2560m)

    After cherishing the view of the snow capped mountains, today you cross the lush green sub tropical trees, pines, spruce and rhododendrons. Enjoy the enchanting blend of colors. Camp here for the night.

  6. Day 06: Trek to Ramam-Rimbik (2280m) 5-6hrs and 3 hrs drive to Darjeeling

    Now you walk about 9 - 10 km to reach Shirokhola. Then cross the hanging bridge on the river and climb down the steep mountain for an hour. Finally you walk down to Rimbik. This 3km walk to Rimbik is not strenuous. From Rimbik you need a car on hire to come to Darjeeling in next 3 hrs. At the end of the trek, stay at a Darjeeling hotel.

  7. Day 07: Drive Darjeeling to Bagdogra

    It will take 2-3 hrs drive from Darjeeling to Bagdogra airport. Board the respective flights for onward destination.
